- [fundraiser](https://bobhall.com/fundraiser/): Tonight, August 9, I will be doing caricatures/ quick sketches as part of a fundraiser for D.R.E.S.S. syndrome. It’s hosted by Dr. Denison Salisbury and I’m pleased to be included in the doings. I’ll be doing the sketches from 4-6 give or take at Robber’s Cave. That’s 925 Robbers Cave Road. Admission to the event that will include all kinds of fun stuff is $20. The sketches will be free but there will be a donation jar with all the dough going to the charity. - [Raleigh](https://bobhall.com/raleigh/): I’ll be appearing at GalaxyCon Raleigh NC this week from Thursday the 24th through Sunday the 27th,. This is GalaxyCon’s flagship con and it will be amazing. Lot’s of celebs, artists, cosplayers – and me. I’ll be doing commissions, selling posters and originals and telling the same old stories that will be new to at least some of you. Most important there will be a memorial for the late and much lamented JIm Shooter. Thank you Mike Broder.
- [Cancelled](https://bobhall.com/cancelled/): Had to cancel Florida Supercon. Due to storms up and down the East Coast, American Airlines just couldn’t get me there on any schedule that made sense. My apologies to any of you that were hoping to see me there. I will definitely be at GalaxyCon Raleigh next week. More about that in my next post.

I was successful finding work as a theatre director, comic book artist and writer working for Marvel and co-authoring a stage version of Dracula that ran Off-Broadway for two years. In the late 1980s I was asked to return to Lincoln as Artistic Director of the University of Nebraska’s professional summer theatre program, Nebraska Repertory. I did this from 1987 through 1992. - [About](https://bobhall.com/about/): I’ve worked in the comics industry for more than forty-five years, starting at Charlton Comics in 1974, illustrating horror stories and drawing covers. That same year I took a course in creating comics taught by the legendary John Buscema and at the end of the class, Buscema recommended me to Archie Goodwin, Editor-In-Chief at Marvel, as a penciler. I was immediately thrown into drawing a group book, The Champions, written by Bill Mantlo, who graciously mentored me through my first jobs.
